3M in The Work Foundation
The Work Foundation Looks to 3M and Impact Marcom to Achieve Powerful Multimedia Presentations
Impact Marcom installs five all-in-one digital projection systems from 3M in conference rooms and offers access to instant technical support
Bracknell, UK, May 2008 - 3M, the diversified technology company, and Impact Marcom, a supplier of audiovisual and videoconferencing technology, have announced that The Work Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that advises enterprises on best working practices, is using the 3M Digital Wall Display (DWD) 9200IW Plus in conference rooms at its Central London headquarters. The systems are making a first-class impression on customers of the venue for their all-in-one functionality, ultra-reliable performance and ease of use.
Customers of the venue and clients of our consulting activities include public sector organisations and large blue-chip enterprises, who expect access to powerful presentations combining a variety of media and techniques,” said Nina Gryff, Venue Manager, The Work Foundation. “The 3M-based solution delivered by Impact Marcom, our chosen AV/IT systems integrator, significantly enhances our in-house activities and our offering as an independent conferencing venue.”
Fully understanding the importance of presentation technology to The Work Foundation’s mission, Director of Finance and Operations Bjorn Pysander prioritised high-quality technical support and versatile functionality in the selection criteria. Impact Marcom recommended the 3M DWD 9200IW Plus to achieve the optimal combination of advanced features, ease of use, long-term reliability, dependable plug-and-play connectivity, and attentive back-up ranging from direct telephone support to full on-site presence.
Impact Marcom has installed a total of five 9200IW Plus systems throughout the four rooms at The Work Foundation’s St. James’ Park venue. There are four large rooms for conferencing and presentations, offering a variety of flexible layouts, including theatre-style for up to 70 people. One of these rooms has a large front-located screen and two networked DWD 9200IW Plus systems located at the sides. The remaining three rooms are each equipped with one DWD 9200IW Plus. In addition to providing support for its own activities, these facilities also allow The Work Foundation to offer a premium venue for events organised by third-party enterprises.
The DWD 9200IW Plus features pioneering Vikuiti Super Close Projection from 3M, interactive whiteboard, digital annotation and integrated stereo audio, in a stylish wall-mount design. Functions are easily controlled via the wireless presentation pen in combination with a connected PC.
“The DWD is an excellent system that not only provides powerful visual performance but, perhaps more importantly, is it easy to understand and use,” commented Alec Titler, Client Services Director, Impact Marcom. “We are able to offer extremely attentive support with instant telephone access to technical staff, adding a dimension that is simply not part of the package with systems at the lower end of the market.”
“This is a great example of a corporate customer that recognises the importance of being able to communicate sophisticated presentations clearly and effectively in order to achieve business improvements,” adds Paul Gardner, sales and marketing manager, 3M’s Projection Systems division. “Our DWD ensures presenters have all the tools they need to influence their audience and be successful.”
